Rorschach Theatre

Rorschach Theatre, called Washington's leading fantasists by the Washington Post, launched a unique immersive experience known as the Psychogeographies Projects in the fall of 2020. Catalyzed by the pandemic, the company sought to create community, provide context and manifest hope in a new way. The current experience, CHEMICAL EXILE, sends subscribers to 8 locations across the city as you step inside the story of a young scientists who discovers her hometown is nothing like she remembers. Each month, participants receive a box in the mail filled with hand-crafted objects and excerpts of DC history. Along with your box you receive a map and instructions to travel to a different curated location in the DC area. The experience culminates with live in-person performances in the summer of 2022. Rorschach Theatre tells stories that allow for innovative design and visceral performances. The company treats productions as installations that surround the audience with the world of a play. The work centers on the intersection of magic or impossible moments and engaging human experiences. Without proselytizing, it provides a complex, intellectual catalyst for self-exploration of challenging subjects.
