Sporting events and festivals can benefit from Destination DC’s (DDC) connections, visibility, resources and ways to engage with our community and reach consumers.

Basic Information 

Duration 
Sports/Festival partnerships are intended for a single- or multi-day ticketed event that is open to the public. 
  
Example 
Sports championship, open or friendly match. Music, food or film festival.  
  
Partner Investment 
$2,500 and minimum (8) eight tickets to the event/attraction

  • Dedicated listing page on washington.org for a maximum of 6 months. The site boasts 
    • 19.3M+ unique page views annually 
    • More than 1.2M unique visitors a month and 12.6M annually 
  • Leverage the reach of washington.org by uploading events and deals  

Digital Marketing  

  • Banner ads on washington.org to reach 250,000 impressions over a minimum of 3 months (value, $3,000) 
  • Sponsored listing on washington.org for one month (value, $500) 
  • One-time inclusion in Things to Do This Month/Weekend web content pieces (value, $1,000 each) 
  • Inclusion on washington.org calendar of events with a “featured event” (value, $750) 
  • Partner content amplified by official Washington, DC Facebook account at least 1x (value, $500) 

Resources 

  • Access to the two-year convention calendar – know what big meetings will be in town over your event 
  • Convention resumes – timely details about big conventions during your event and how to reach them 
  • Access to Member Extranet and members-only post board 
  • Industry data, research and consumer sentiment data 

Connections  

  • Access to the Member Directory of more than 1,000 businesses, including contacts who are local sales and marketing leaders 
  • Invitations to exclusive member events

    • Discounted rates in the Official Visitors Guide print publication. Approximately 6 months lead-time required. 
  • Dedicated emails to consumer or industry audiences. 

Lead-time 

  • 4 weeks: to fulfill digital marketing benefits after the partner provides content 
  • 90 days: banner ads 
  • 6 months: print advertising in the Official Visitors Guide (deadline dependent) 
  • Specific benefits are subject to availability.

Your event can be listed for FREE on the washington.org events calendar if submitted at least 2 weeks in advance.
